Bursaphelenchus xylophilus is a gonochoristic species of the Clade IV nematodes. It is a parasite of Pine trees thought to originate from North America, but has spread through East Asia and Portugal. It is also known as Pine Wilt Nematode (PWN).

Genome Assembly & Annotation

Assembly

Nanopore long reads were assembled using Flye v2.7.1. After base correction by two rounds of Pilon v1.23 with the Illumina paired-end reads, the assembly was further scaffolded using the 3D-DNA pipeline, as described by Dayi et al., 2020.
