About Caenorhabditis becei

Caenorhabditis becei (formerly Caenorhabditis sp. 29) was formally described by Stevens et al in 2019. It is a member of the Japonica group in the Caenorhabditis genus; molecular data suggest its closest known relatives to be C. nouraguensis, C. yunquensis, C. macrosperma, C. waitukubuli, and C. panamensis. It reproduces through males and females. The species type isolate was collected from a rotting flower on Barro Colorado Island, Panama in 2012.

Genome Assembly & Annotation

Assembly

Short and long insert Illumina libraries were sequenced at the NYU Center for Genomics and Systems Biology GenCore and assembled using Platanus, as described in Stevens et al., 2019.

Annotation

The gene set presented here was provided by Lewis Stevens, and predicted using BRAKER.
