About Oesophagostomum dentatum
The nematode Oesophagostomum dentatum, or nodule worm, is a common parasite of domestic and feral pigs worldwide. Swine (Sus scrofa) is the only host and harbors hundreds and even thousands of pre-adult and adult stage worms in the large intestines, especially the caecum, for a long time period without clinical signs except reduced food conversion.
Genome Assembly & Annotation
Assembly
The genome assembly was produced by the Mitreva laboratory at the Genome Institute of Washington University, and submitted in late 2013 as part of the 50 Helminth Genomes project. \n \nThe assembly presented here is similar to GCA_000797555.1, but it contains many additional small scaffolds that have been filtered out during submission.
Annotation
The gene predictions were made by the Mitreva laboratory at the Genome Institute of Washington University, and submitted in late 2013 as part of the 50 Helminth Genomes project.
